The Rev'd Chris Keast
Parish Priest Fr Chris was ordained a Priest for the Diocese of Ballarat in July 2017, having already served six months in the Parish as a Deacon. Before arriving in the Parish, Fr Chris previously served as a Maritime Warfare Officer in the Royal Australian Navy for 13 years with his last posting being to Sydney, where he also served at St Alban’s and St Aiden’s in Epping. Initially as a lay assistant before being ordained as a Deacon by Bishop Garry Weatherill in June 2016, then continuing as voluntary minister before moving to Ballarat at the end of 2016. Once moving with his wife and three children they quickly fell in love with the Ballarat region and lifestyle. The call to ministry took a diverse road for Fr Chris, having already studied at James Cook University, the Australian Defence Force Academy, and the University of Divinity in Melbourne. Fr Chris loves to watch a good movie (especially Star Wars), or relaxing while playing on the computer; and even having a tea party with his kids. |
